Looking at the Sky

The sky at night
Most of the tiny white dots that you see are stars. Stars are actually big, hot, bright things like the Sun, but they are so far away that they look small and faint and we can only see them at night.
As well as stars, you can sometimes see the Moon and, if you know where to look, planets as well.
What you can see in the sky changes during the night and through the year. This means that if you want to see everything, you need to look at the sky lots and lots of times!
