The 'Virtual' Liverpool Robotic Telescope

The Liverpool Telescope Observatory

The Liverpool Telescope (closed)

Introduction

Robotic telescopes are designed to operate by themselves with no astronomers in attendance.

These instruments are extremely complicated and use advanced electronic control systems.

Schools have access to the world's largest robotic telescope, the Liverpool Telescope, sited on the edge of an extinct volcano in the Canary Islands.

LTRobot is software that simulates the operation of the Liverpool Telescope.

The enclosure remains open when in use

In this workshop you will learn how to use the Liverpool virtual Robotic Telescope and make your own simulated observations of the night sky.
