The Liverpool Telescope is a professional telescope primarily for use by astronomers at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).

As part of a grant from the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) UK astronomers working at other UK universities can also use the Liverpool Telescope for research purposes.

The Liverpool Telescope is sited on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands and an agreement allows Spanish astronomers to use the Liverpool Telescope. Like all scientists, astronomers work or collaborate with other astronomers around the world pushing the frontiers of science forward.

Astronomers at Liverpool John Moores University (JMU) have given some of their observing time on the Liverpool Telescope to UK schools and colleges.

Students are able to enjoy the excitement of working with a professional astronomical telescope to investigate the Solar System and the Universe beyond.
